Karen's Lashes

The studio is in Gig Harbor and describes itself as the town's premier eyelash extension, microblading and permanent eyeliner studio. It works by appointment only, and clients book by calling or texting (253) 514-0422. Hours are Monday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm, and special requests can also be sent by text.

For lashes, classic extensions take about 1.5 hours and give a more natural look, while Russian volume extensions take about 2 hours and give a fuller look. Both cost $175. Fills are recommended every 2 to 3 weeks and are done once 40% or more of the extensions remain. A Classic Lash Fill takes 1 hour for $85, a Mega Lash Fill takes 1 hour 15 minutes for $85, and Russian volume fills are $85. Extension removal takes 30 minutes and costs $35. Clients are asked to avoid oil-based products around the eyes while they wear extensions.

Brow services include microblading, a semi-permanent treatment in which pigment is placed into the skin with specialized tools. A microblading appointment takes about 2 hours and costs $400, and retouches are scheduled 4 to 6 weeks after the first visit. Brow tinting with tweezing takes 15 minutes and costs $15; it evens out brow color, darkens brows, and the result lasts about 6 weeks. Permanent eyeliner is also among the studio's offerings. The studio partners with Jamie's Lash & Brow for microblading and lashes.

The studio also runs Lash Lady's Academy in Gig Harbor, which the academy describes as the town's top eyelash extension training academy. The beginning classic and volume class costs $1,200, runs two days for 16 hours of hands-on training with up to 3 students, and has two master lash instructors working one on one with each student. Applicants must be 18 or older and be licensed cosmetologists or estheticians or enrolled in an accredited school. A $500 deposit holds a spot, and payment is by major credit card only.

Lash options range from a natural-looking classic set to a fuller Russian volume set, and fills are timed to how many extensions remain.
