Kai Hair Co is a hair salon in Nexton Square inside Image Studios in Summerville, South Carolina. Chelsea founded it in 2023 and works there as its stylist. Services take place in individual suites, which keeps each visit private and quiet.

About

Each visit begins with a consultation about the client's hair goals. Clients can spend their chair time however they like, whether that means working, taking calls, chatting, resting or sitting in silence on request. Complimentary snacks and drinks are offered, and clients may bring their own food and drinks.

The color menu runs from a quick gloss that adds shine and refreshes existing tone, through a mini highlight around the hairline, to partial and full highlight services and all-over color used to cover or blend grey or create a solid shade. Bond Builder, a strengthening add-on, is included in every color service except the gloss, where it can be added. Deep conditioning can be added to any service.

Booking runs through a booking link for current clients. New clients, and anyone not seen in more than a year, first fill out a new client form and are then sent the link. Clients need to give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel; a later cancellation results in the card on file being charged 25% of the booked service. Clients are asked to arrive with clean, dry hair for color services.

The salon aims to help clients love their hair while making the most of their time. When a client's goals fall outside the stylist's expertise, the salon refers them to another salon or stylist in the area.

Individual suites give the salon a more personal and quiet feel.
