Guests travel in from Montgomery County and nearby areas, including Philadelphia, King of Prussia, Plymouth Meeting, Norristown, Lafayette Hill and Blue Bell. The studio was founded on the idea that clients deserve unhurried time for their appointments.

Each visit is shaped around the guest's scalp and hair concerns. Depending on the service, an appointment can include a scalp analysis (described as educational and cosmetic, not a medical diagnosis), a clarifying shampoo, deep cleansing, targeted scalp treatments, conditioning, scalp massage and a professional blow-dry. The spa works with one client at a time and books through an online system.

Services fall into express visits, signature head spas with or without a blow-dry, specialty treatments for particular situations, men's services, and monthly memberships. Guests recovering from surgery or injury can ask for assisted hair washing with their doctor's clearance, and guests are asked to share their provider's instructions before booking so accommodations can be arranged.

Memberships are month-to-month with a $50 setup fee. Silver and Gentlemen's memberships are $89.95 a month and Gold is $119.95 a month. Unused services roll over and do not expire, members get monthly email reminders and discounts on extra visits, and Gentlemen's, Silver and Gold members receive 10% off in-store product purchases when available.

Guests should arrive with their hair detangled, since detangling can carry a fee and may shorten or move the appointment. Appointments can be rescheduled up to 24 hours ahead. Services, packages, gift certificates and memberships are non-refundable, including canceled and no-show visits. HSA or FSA reimbursement may apply to some treatments, depending on the plan, and itemized receipts are available on request. The spa cannot treat lice, and hair extensions, braids and locs are not suited to treatment, so guests with these should contact the spa before booking.

Each service is personalized to the guest's scalp and hair concerns, with time set aside for relaxation. Scalp analysis is used where it fits and is offered as an educational, cosmetic step.
