The salon was recently remodeled and has new equipment, furniture and toys. Children can sit in car-shaped chairs or in kid-size salon chairs, and a parent can take an adult-size chair and hold a child on their lap during the cut. Each station has its own TV with streaming, on-demand shows and movies. The salon, the building and its restrooms are wheelchair friendly, and the salon says it keeps the space clean.

Children who are nervous or easily overwhelmed are handled with patience. Stylists use suckers, bubbles, songs and other distractions to keep kids calm. For children with sensory sensitivities, stylists will skip clippers, trimmers or blow dryers when that is appropriate. A child who needs a break can leave and come back later that day or another day to finish, at no extra charge. Children who prefer to stay in their wheelchair can do so, and stylists take extra care to keep the chair clear of hair. The salon says its stylists have more than 20 years of experience with young children and clients with sensory sensitivities, and that the team has 30 or more years in the business combined.

Every child's first haircut includes a certificate with stickers, a lock of hair and a photo, at no extra cost. Kids and teens can choose a barrette, hair tinsel or sculpting gel as a finishing style. Prices listed include $24 for kids and teen cuts and $26 for adult cuts, though the salon notes prices can be adjusted after discussion during the appointment.

Appointments can be booked online at any hour through the Book Now button on the website. Walk-ins are welcome when a stylist is free, but clients with appointments are seen first. Appointments lock at 10am on the day of the visit, cancellations need at least 24 hours' notice by phone or message, and clients more than five minutes late may be asked to reschedule. No-call no-shows and same-day cancellations forfeit the deposit. Every haircut comes with a discount card, a rewards program offers free haircuts, and gift cards are sold on the website.
