Journey To Her LLC was founded in 2022 and operates in Raleigh, North Carolina. Owner Amara Nicole does the hands-on work as an esthetician and artist, with brows as the main focus: henna brows, ombre brows and permanent makeup.

Amara started in the beauty industry with makeup, and has worked across natural and wedding looks through glam and special effects, learning that side without formal training. She has been a licensed esthetician for more than seven years, has waxed professionally for years, and began performing permanent makeup in 2019.

A visit usually starts with a conversation. Clients share their ideas and reference photos, and the artist helps choose the booking option that fits. Deposits are required at booking and vary by the piece or pieces chosen. They can be paid by invoice, card on file or Cash App, and they count toward the total. Numbing cream is not used by default but can be provided on request, and it takes about an hour to take effect before the appointment.

Tattoo clients complete an online consent form and choose a time through the website. Anyone unsure about size or time frame can send reference photos for guidance. Permanent makeup results are described as lasting two to four years, with touch-ups needed after the first two sessions.

Beyond client work, the business runs Browtiful Academy, which offers an in-person beginner permanent makeup class, a henna brow and mapping class, an online course called Become a Brow Boss, and masterclasses for fellow estheticians. Browtiful brow products, a limited edition tweezer set, mirrors and a social media eBook are sold as well. The studio also hosts networking events for local entrepreneurs and enthusiasts.

Consults are built around each client, and the artist helps match the booking option to their brow goals or tattoo idea. Numbing cream is left out of the default process, with it available on request.
