The salon runs a nine-month apprenticeship that covers cutting, coloring, styling and client care. Graduates may join Joe Bae Salon or its sister salon, Joon by Joe Bae, also in Bellevue. Apprenticeship questions go to education director Serenity.

Clients book by phone or online, and appointments are confirmed by text about 72 hours ahead. Prices are a general guide: the final cost depends on the stylist, hair condition and hair type, and can vary with hair length and density. Some services are charged by the hour, and each stylist's pricing is listed on the team page. Changes made with more than 48 hours' notice can be made online or by phone without a fee. Changes made with less notice carry a 75% service charge, and a missed appointment without notice is charged in full to the card on file.
