JM'Esthetics is a private studio in Columbia, Maryland, founded by licensed esthetician and master lash artist Joi Jones. The menu covers brows, facials, lash services, heel and sole treatments, and waxing, with particular attention to body waxing and customized facial work.
Facials range from a 60-minute back treatment with extractions and a custom mask to a 90-minute extended custom facial that adds skin analysis, enzyme exfoliation, massage, and is offered for women and men. The 70-minute first-time facial begins with a consultation and a Wood's lamp analysis before a mask is chosen for the client's skin. The back treatment is suggested every four to six weeks.
Brow options include threading, a 30-minute brow wax with trimming, tweezing and concealer on request, and brow lamination, which can be paired with a wax and a free tint for a four to six week result. Lash options include a Korean lash lift with a free tint and under-eye patch, a standard lash lift that typically lasts six to eight weeks, a hybrid wet or anime volume fill for clients with 40 to 50 percent of their lashes remaining, and a new-client classic set at $150, regularly $200.
Bookings are made online and require a non-refundable deposit of $20 to $50, depending on the service. Balances can be paid in cash, Apple Pay, or Zelle, with a 3% fee on card payments. Clients are asked to arrive 5 to 10 minutes early and get a 10-minute grace period; arriving 10 or more minutes late results in cancellation with a full charge plus a 3% fee. Cancellations need 24 hours' notice, and late cancellations or no-shows are charged in full to the card on file plus the 3% fee. Buy Now, Pay Later is available in person for bookings from $50 to $4,000, with approval needed before the appointment.
Hours are Monday through Thursday from 4 to 9:30 PM, Friday from 10 AM to 7 PM, and Saturday from 8 AM to 5 PM, closed Sunday. Evening appointments and house calls are offered. Waxing clients get 15% off body waxing every Wednesday. For brow lamination with wax, clients are asked to book six or more weeks after their previous session and to avoid retinol or acne medication for 7 to 14 days beforehand.
Services are tailored where the studio notes it, such as customized masks and threading offered as an alternative to waxing for sensitive skin.
