Because it is a single chair, each appointment is Jennie's alone, and the aim is for every client to leave feeling good with full attention on their hair and their goals.

Jennie trained at the Paul Mitchell school and began her career after high school, moving to Chicago to work in hairstyling. She spent many years in downtown Chicago, then moved to Denver in 2015 and built a business there from the ground up. She returned to Illinois after almost five years in Denver and now works from the Algonquin suite, with more than 14 years of experience as a hair stylist.

Color is a large part of the menu. Services include all-over color, partial and full highlights, and partial and full balayage, a hand-painted technique that the salon describes as low-maintenance. Lightening services include a toner or glaze that neutralizes unwanted brassy tones and helps close the cuticle. Women's cuts are fitted to lifestyle and hair type, and men's cuts include a wash and style.

Blow-dries are offered for special events or simply to refresh hair, and they typically last up to three days. Up-dos are available for occasions such as prom and homecoming. Deep conditioning is applied at the shampoo bowl for about ten minutes, then the hair is blow-dried and flat ironed.

Booking is by appointment only, through a contact form that asks which service you want and describes your current hair and goals. Services are tailored to each client's request. Hours are Tuesday and Thursday 10am to 7pm, Friday 10am to 6pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm, and Jennie is closed Monday, Wednesday and Sunday. Evening and Saturday slots are limited and often booked weeks or months ahead, while daytime availability is usually more flexible.

Aims to give every client full attention and make them feel good inside and out, with each service tailored to what they ask for.
