Sessions are by appointment only and must be booked online; walk-ins are not accepted. Loc sessions can be booked up to two months ahead. A standard loc session includes a shampoo, parting cleanup, retwist, 30 minutes under the dryer, and oil on the scalp and locs. Most sessions run three to five hours and can be longer depending on loc size, length, build-up and added services, so clients are asked to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to allow time for parking. Retwist prices are set by length, from $95 for a crown retwist to $180 for waist to butt length, and styles must be added to a loc or retwist session.
New clients begin with a 15-minute Zoom consultation for $25, which is credited back if they book a session during the call. Booking a loc session online requires a minimum $50 deposit applied to the balance; instant locs take a $200 deposit, loc installs $100 and faux or soft locs $75. The deposit covers a 15-minute grace period, and late arrivals may be cancelled with the deposit held or accepted with a late fee. If a client cancels before the session begins, the deposit covers one rescheduled session; no-call, no-shows are not rescheduled and the deposit is held. The full balance is due at the end of the session, and payments are nonrefundable once paid.
Online deposits are paid by debit card, and cash, Cash App, Zelle and Venmo are accepted in person. Sessions include a shampoo bowl with a scalp massager, microfiber towels, natural hair care products, high-speed Wi-Fi, water and snacks, and a blanket, and sessions are kept quiet. Guests, smoking and pets are not allowed during sessions. Children and teens are welcome, and minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Home visits are offered to loyal clients within a 30-minute commute of the salon; new clients must visit the salon for their first session, and clients shampoo beforehand because shampooing is not part of a home visit.
Microlocs, sisterlocks and comb-outs are not offered. Loyal clients can earn rewards, including 50% off a sixth session after five sessions booked monthly for six consecutive months, and smaller credits for social media tags, a Google review and a photo of a new look. A referral offer gives 20% off the next session for a referred client who books a consultation and a session.
Retwists are done by palmrolling with no crochet or interlocking, with clean parts guaranteed, and the business uses natural oils and natural hair care products throughout sessions.
Sessions are quiet and comfortable, with snacks, water, a blanket and Wi-Fi provided.
