Cost questions are handled early. Insurance benefits are reviewed during the consultation, since the final cost depends on coverage and treatment, and the practice provides cost estimates before scheduling any laser procedure. Second opinions are welcome, including for premium lens decisions and for complex eyes. The office has an in-house lab for diagnostic testing.
Cataract services span standard monofocal lenses and premium lens choices. Premium laser cataract surgery relies on femtosecond laser guidance to make the corneal incisions, perform the capsulotomy, and fragment the cataract. Multifocal lenses aim to give usable sight at near, intermediate, and far distances, but they may produce halos and glare when driving at night. The practice advises that they are often unsuitable for eyes with advanced glaucoma or macular degeneration. Toric lenses correct astigmatism and can also treat nearsightedness or farsightedness. The practice additionally provides the PanOptix trifocal lens and extended depth of focus lenses. A minimally invasive glaucoma procedure can be performed during the same operation as cataract surgery. The practice states that its cataract surgery success rate exceeds 90 percent. According to the website, many patients see more clearly within a day or two, take eye drops for about four weeks, and usually receive their final glasses prescription four to six weeks after the operation.
Glaucoma care includes evaluation with OCT imaging, visual field testing and optic nerve assessment. Treatment options range from laser procedures, including selective and argon laser trabeculoplasty, laser peripheral iridotomy for narrow-angle glaucoma and Nd:YAG laser cyclophotocoagulation for severe cases, to surgical options such as trabeculectomy and tube shunt surgery. Minimally invasive options include the iStent implant, the Durysta implant and the iDose TR implant. The practice says selective laser trabeculoplasty can control symptoms for up to five years and that iDose TR can provide pressure control for up to about three years. Outpatient minor eye surgery is done in the office, including chalazion removal, eyelid lesion removal such as cysts and papillomas, pterygium treatment, PRK, corneal transplant and refractive lens exchange.
Other services include routine eye exams, comprehensive eye care, contact lens fitting, eyeglass prescriptions based on lens measurements, diagnosis and care for corneal diseases, diabetic eye care to monitor and treat diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration evaluation and monitoring, and Plaquenil eye exams. Dry eye care includes IPL therapy, LipiFlow and punctal plugs, along with treatment for meibomian gland dysfunction. Aesthetic treatments are also offered: Forma is described as stimulating new collagen to improve skin elasticity and is offered for sagging skin on the face, neck, knees and abdomen; Lumecca is offered for age spots, sun damage, visible vessels and rosacea; and Morpheus8 uses fractional radiofrequency energy, is usually done in one to three sessions about four weeks apart, and is said to show results within days that continue to improve for up to three months.
Staff review symptoms at booking to match each patient with the appropriate doctor, and patients who need further evaluation are referred to a senior physician.
