About
Dr. Kerline Marcelin is a glaucoma specialist and surgeon at Hudson Ophthalmology. She holds board certification in ophthalmology and completed a glaucoma fellowship, and she has been treating patients in Westchester County since 2000. Earlier in her career, she led glaucoma services at three hospitals: Jacobi Hospital, North Central Bronx Hospital Systems, and Catholic Medical Center in Queens.
She received a BA in psychobiology from New York University as a Trustee Scholar and an MD from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where she was supported by a National Institutes of Health research grant. Her residency in ophthalmology took place at NYU Medical Center. She then trained in glaucoma at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, with a fellowship under Drs. Robert Ritch, Jeffery Liebmann, and Celso Telloo. Since 2000 she has served as an Assistant Professor and glaucoma specialist on the teaching faculty at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, and she holds academic appointments at New York Medical College and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She teaches glaucoma to ophthalmology residents.
Her clinical focus covers routine and complex glaucoma, including open angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. She performs premium, laser, and custom cataract surgery with premium lens options. Before recommending a multifocal lens, she assesses whether a patient's eye health is suitable for one. Before minor eye surgery, she holds a personalized consultation that reviews the options, procedural details, and risks. Her hospital affiliations include New York Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital and New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society. She was named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor in 2022 and 2023.
