How You Nail It Studio is a private nail suite in Westwood, housed within Phenix Salon Suites on Glendon Avenue. Owner and nail technician Christina Aghassian runs the studio, and each visit is one-on-one. The studio describes itself as odorless and eco-conscious.

Structured nail work is the core of the studio. Builder (hard) gel sets are built on nail forms for long-term wear and filled every three weeks, and Gel-X soft-gel extensions suit either short or long-term wear and are removed within four weeks, with reapplication available. The Japanese bio gel manicure uses Evo bio gel, which is filed off and reprepped rather than soaked off. Nail art options include French tips, hand-drawn designs, chrome and gems, and the studio's portfolio shows themes such as tie-dye, Coachella, St Patrick's, Valentine, minimalist and marble.

For manicures and pedicures, the studio offers classic versions as well as gel and bio gel options. The organic spa pedicure runs 75 minutes and includes a sugar scrub, foot mask and a seven-minute massage. Products are described as non-toxic, vegan and cruelty-free. The salon reports that site reviews praise the manicures, pedicures and one-on-one service.

Booking details: appointments are required, and new clients pay a 50% deposit at booking. Clients arriving more than 10 minutes late may not receive their full service, so calling ahead is requested. Chipping or breakage within 72 hours of service receives a complimentary fix, which excludes changes based on personal preference. Hours are Monday and Thursday through Friday 10 AM to 7 PM, and Saturday and Sunday 10 AM to 5:30 PM; the studio is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. Parking is in the public structure next to Trader Joe's, with tickets validated at the building front desk after the appointment.

Each appointment is one-on-one and paced to leave time to relax, using non-toxic, vegan and cruelty-free products.
