House of Mane was founded by Sarah and Erica, who spent years in the hair industry before opening the salon. The Miami location is in Wynwood, and the West Palm Beach location opened as the salon's second.

The salon works in a departmentalized way, so each stylist concentrates on a particular specialty, whether that is color, cutting and styling, or extensions. The stated aim is for artists to feel empowered and for clients to feel at home.

Color appointments are customized, so timing varies from client to client. Clients are asked to leave time for a blowout or style after a color service, and cancellations need at least 24 hours' notice; later cancellations are charged the full service total.
