A visit usually starts with an assessment. The Hair and Scalp Assessment photographs the scalp and follicles with a dermascope and reviews the client's health and lifestyle history. The Comprehensive Hair Loss Assessment is a longer appointment of about two hours and 15 minutes that combines a scalp evaluation, health intake, DNA test and epigenetic follicle analysis. A free 15-minute Discovery Call is available for clients who want to talk through their concerns and goals first.
Testing options include the HALO DNA test, which uses a cheek swab, and the Epigenetic Hair Follicle Analysis, which uses four hair strands. Lab work can be ordered and reviewed through LabCorp. Treatments offered include scalp microneedling, Jet Plasma, Juvasonic and Alma TED, a needle-free treatment that uses acoustic sound waves. Each has its own consultation or package options.
Practical details: the studio is a private one-on-one setting not shared with other businesses in the building. Insurance does not cover these appointments because the practitioner is not a medical doctor. Major credit cards, checks, cash and HSA or FSA cards are accepted, and payment plans are available through Cherry with an application that does not affect credit. Clients in cancer treatment need an all-clear from their oncologist before starting a program, and clients who have had a hair transplant can book before or after surgery.
Works from the underlying causes of hair loss and shedding, weighing health, lifestyle, diet, medications, genetics and hormones, and reads lab results against optimal levels rather than standard normal ranges.
