Hoboken Color Studio was founded by Yoselin Galarza, who has worked in Hoboken for more than 20 years. She opened a first hair salon in 2011 and a barbershop in 2014, and the studio grew out of a commitment to offering only services that preserve the health and integrity of the hair.

The studio focuses on color, and each service is built around keeping the hair in good condition. The salon describes its aim as striving for excellence and giving every guest exceptional service.

A visit is set up around a consultation, which is recommended so clients receive the right service for their hair goals. A complimentary 20-minute consultation is required before balayage, transformational color and extension services. Services are priced a la carte, and final cost depends on stylist time, the amount of product used and the time needed. Additional charges apply if extra color is needed during a color service. Clients can relax in the salon for the length of their appointment without the distractions of a full-service salon.

Booking and policies: appointments can be rescheduled or cancelled online through the link in confirmation emails and texts, and they can sync to Google Calendar. Cancellations less than 24 hours ahead are charged 50% of the reserved amount, and no-shows or cancellations less than 6 hours ahead are charged the full amount. Clients are asked to arrive a few minutes early, and late arrivals may not receive every booked service. Gratuities cannot be added to credit card payments, though cash and Venmo tips are accepted. If a client is not satisfied, adjustments are made within 7 days of the appointment, but refunds are not offered. Children under 13 and pets are not allowed in the salon, and guests cannot accompany clients during services. The salon is open Tuesday through Thursday 1pm to 9pm, Friday 11am to 7pm and Saturday 9am to 5pm, and is closed Sunday and Monday. It can be reached at 201-963-7894 or hobokencolorstudio@gmail.com.
