Hidden Door was created as the realization of owner Katie Archer's vision. The salon is described as speakeasy-style and private, and each visit is a one-on-one experience with the stylist. The street address is provided once a client books.

Each appointment is tailored to the client's needs, whether they want a lively visit or a quiet one. Hours are Monday and Tuesday 10 AM to 5:30 PM and Wednesday 11 AM to 7:30 PM, with the salon closed Thursday through Sunday. According to the site, many Nashville women book Hidden Door as their regular salon.

Cancellations or changes need 24 hours' notice to avoid charges. Late cancellations are charged 50% of the service price, and no-shows without notice are charged the full price. Emergency cancellations are decided by the salon manager. Clients who cancel or no-show often may be asked for a non-refundable deposit or may lose booking privileges. Buy Now, Pay Later is available for in-person bookings from $50 to $4,000, with approval required before the appointment.
