New loc installations start with a consultation, and an installation can only be scheduled once it has been approved. Each month's calendar for the following month is released on the 15th, and both appointment slots and installation openings are kept deliberately scarce. Maintenance for clients who are more than two months behind schedule carries different pricing than upkeep for established clients who keep to their timing. Double strand twists on natural hair are available only during limited seasonal periods. A Client Assessment is a request for a hair review to discuss new service needs; it does not reserve a time. Loc repairs and corrective work are evaluated individually. Approved appointments outside regular hours carry an extra $100 fee.
The education side includes a two-day, hands-on Microlocs certification class held in Atlanta, Georgia, with the exact location shared after registration. The standard tuition is $2,000, with a seat reservable for $350 and the remaining balance due in full by March 5, 2027. The class is limited to ten students, covers Microlocs theory, hair assessment, scalp health, precision parting, installation, retightening, maintenance, repairs and reattachments, digital marketing, positioning, and an introduction to AI for beauty businesses. It is intended for licensed cosmetologists, natural hair stylists, locticians and serious beginners. It does not include Sisterlocks or Microloc extensions training. Graduates receive a Heal Thy Hair certificate of completion, which is professional education rather than a state-issued license.
Beyond the class, the business sells digital guides and workbooks for clients and stylists, and hosts the free Microlocs Business Lab on Skool, a community where Microlocs professionals can get business support with no required pace or assignments.
