Headprint Studio San Francisco

Headprint Studio is a hair salon with two San Francisco locations: a Cow Hollow studio on Webster Street and a Castro location on 18th Street. Teddy Benjamin launched the business in 2019 as a five-chair salon in Cow Hollow. The salon describes itself as queer-owned and as an inclusive space where stylists celebrate individuality and uplift the queer community. It serves all hair types, textures and identities and welcomes clients of every race, gender, age and perspective.

Pricing is all-inclusive and by the hour, so the hourly rate covers the services booked within that hour, with no hidden fees. Each stylist's rate is set according to their experience, expertise and educational background. Tips are accepted. New clients can book a complimentary consultation for cut, color or styling, and a find-your-stylist quiz matches people with a stylist based on style, budget and personality. Clients with sensitivities can ask for a hair test before color services.

Some services need a conversation first. Consultations are required before extension services and fashion colors, for new clients. Bleach and tone services and color correction also require a consultation before booking. Rebooking clients who want fashion color contact their stylist for the hourly price. Clients are asked to arrive on time and to text the salon if they are running late. The salon does not offer wedding services.

Appointments can be booked online through Square Appointments. Questions can be sent by text to 415-483-0920 for either location, and voicemails are returned. Cancellations made within 24 hours of a service are charged 50% of the service fee. Headprint House, a second-floor event space above the Cow Hollow studio, hosts artist markets, drag makeup classes and sound baths, and it can also host photoshoots, community talks and group styling sessions.

The salon says it is rooted in the queer community and centers self-expression, with stylists who celebrate individuality.
