HAYR CO. is a small hair studio in Lincoln, created by Nina Tahti as a space for thoughtful, considered work in a calm and private setting. Visits are by appointment only, and new clients join through the studio's waitlist.

Custom color begins with a consultation, and each service is shaped around the individual client. Available options are blonding, dimensional work, retouches of existing color, glosses or toners, balayage, smudge root, and lived-in color, and every custom color service comes with a professional treatment. Custom color is charged at $105 per hour, with a minimum booking of 1.5 hours. Most sessions take two to four hours or longer, depending on the service and how dense the hair is. A haircut costs $75 and covers a consultation, shampoo, precision cut, and blow-dry with styling.

Extensions are offered to add fullness or length, improve shape and balance, and give longer-lasting styling. Extension consultation is required before an install is booked, and it covers the condition and density of natural hair, the method, maintenance timing and the cost of the hair. Initial installs range from $200 to $250 depending on method, placement and time. The extension hair is quoted at consultation and purchased when the install is booked. Maintenance is required to protect hair and results: an 8-week move-up is $150, and a mini move-up is $75 and covers partial maintenance between full move-ups. Extension services are charged separately from custom color.

Pricing is set during consultation and can adjust during the appointment, and the studio describes its rates as non-negotiable. New client availability is limited to Monday through Thursday, and new clients are contacted by text or by the booking assistant after submitting an inquiry. A $50 non-refundable deposit secures new client appointments and is applied to the service total on the day. All appointments require a non-refundable deposit, which cannot be transferred. Cancellations or reschedules with less than 48 hours' notice forfeit the deposit, and after a third late cancellation or no-show, future appointments must be prepaid in full at booking.

Appointments are shaped around each client's daily routine, upkeep preferences and the condition of their hair, with the aim of hair that feels effortless, grows out well and fits everyday life.
