About

Hare describes itself as a chic, laid-back, modern salon at 720 S. Fifth St. in Queen Village. It is run as a small boutique, and the team aims to build a sense of community and a space where guests can explore their own style.

Color is the core of the menu. Color and highlight services are priced hourly plus product, and a haircut and style are included in the hourly price when a guest receives color. Hourly rates are $95 for Alexa Simons and Rachel Kolifrath, $90 for Marti Swain and $70 for Katie Baden. Options include balayage, lived-in color, traditional highlights, single process color for grey coverage and blending, bleach and tone retouches for existing clients, and transformative color for full changes and corrective work. Cuts range from bang trims and crop cuts to haircuts for pixies, bobs and mid to long lengths, and half up or updo styling covers formal occasions.

Hare is open Wednesday and Thursday 10am to 7pm, Friday 10am to 6pm and Saturday 10am to 5pm, and it is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Parking is in the lot at 706 S. 3rd Street or the Abbot Square Parking Garage, with metered, two-hour and free street parking nearby. First-time color guests complete an intake form before booking, lightening services require a $50 deposit, and cancellations need at least 48 hours notice. Children are not permitted at guest appointments, and cash is the preferred way to tip.

Built around personal, appointment-only attention, with the aim of a community feel and room for each guest to explore their own style.

The salon describes its feel as chic, laid-back and modern.
