A visit is built around the child. Each station has movie DVDs or a TV and video games. Clippers and trimmers are quiet, weighted lap pads are offered, and adult styling chairs are available for parents or older clients. Parents are encouraged to ask for the same stylist at each visit.
Staff are trained to work with children with special needs, and the team received autism training from local autism groups. Children with autism are a stated focus of the salon. Families can also find a few extras here: a Flavor Station where children mix their own shampoo scent and take home a bottle of the custom blend, a Child's First Haircut package with a certificate, a lock of hair, and a photo, and private hairstyling classes where parents learn simple styles for their child's hair. The salon also sells haircare products and gift certificates.
Each cut includes shampoo, sectioning, and blow-dry styling, with the goal of a comfortable visit from arrival to finish.
Themed chairs and a shampoo station featuring an elephant character give the salon a playful, kid-focused setting.
