Hair Passion Salon

Hair Passion Salon started as a small neighborhood salon in Medford, Massachusetts, and later moved to Melrose. It opened in 2019 under owner and CEO Jaclyn Eva, who returned to the hair industry in 2017.

Every appointment begins with a consultation about the client's hair, daily lifestyle and longer-term goals. Services are shaped around each client rather than trends or fixed menus, and each visit includes a personalized quote. Changes to length, density or the cost of a color bowl are discussed before any service starts.

The salon's signature offering is its Best of the Best packages, which the salon calls its top signature packages. They include an Annual Full Highlight Transformation (full highlight or balayage, toner, a customized treatment and a haircut, about five hours), a Full Signature High-Lites and/or Low-lites service (full-head dimensional color, hand-painted or foiled, with toner, treatment and haircut, three to four hours), a Partial Big Transformation Highlight focused on the top and sides (three to three and a half hours), a Partial Signature Transformation for an easier-to-maintain dimensional refresh (two to three hours), and a Mini Lux Highlight that brightens around the part or face frame with toner or gloss (one to one and a half hours). The packages work with curly or straight hair, using hand-painted or foiled color.

All prices are starting prices, and a la carte pricing is shown in the online booking. Booking requires a $40 deposit, which is applied to the service. Cancelling less than 24 hours before an appointment counts as a no-show, and the deposit is not refunded in that case. Retail products are 10% off when bought with a packaged service.

Services are customized to each client, starting with a consultation, rather than following trends or one-size-fits-all menus.
