Extensions are applied with Great Lengths methods, either the 3200 Thermal System or the Ultrasonic 5000 Cold Fusion system, and the salon also offers GL Apps tape-ins that can be removed and reapplied. Other options include hand-tied, micro bead, volumizing and lengthening extensions. Color work covers ombre with double and triple dye transitions, fashion shades in pastel, neon and jewel tones, and Perfect Color extensions in over 40 natural shades. Diamond Strands use Swarovski crystal strands for weddings, events and red carpet looks. Custom hair types and exact colors can be ordered by consultation through a Great Lengths partner in Italy. Wigs made from European human hair are also available, and private custom work is offered to entertainers and fashion models with privacy kept for VIP clients.

A visit begins with a consultation of at least one hour to review the desired service, and complimentary consultations are offered at all locations. Pricing is given after that consultation. Clients get a complimentary check-up about two months after extensions are applied. The salon advises waiting 48 hours before shampooing after a Great Lengths service, and it recommends Great Lengths aftercare products and Acca Kappa brushes designed for Great Lengths hair.

Thermal and cold fusion services are offered at all three locations, and same-day extension service is available everywhere for clients who need urgent care or are visiting for the day. Other services are available at Mokena and Millburn on request. The Millburn location, one block from a train station in the Short Hills area, is by appointment only and lists Great Lengths and Gold Fever among its offerings. Appointments are booked through the Vagaro online system, and the service provider may change depending on the date and time requested.

Extensions only, with each service planned around the individual client, and every employee, including the owner, is a client of the salon.
