Hair by Abby is run by hair stylist Abby Roll, who works inside Hair Destruction, a boutique salon on Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks. Abby has been working behind the chair for almost two decades, the last nineteen of them in Los Angeles.

Alongside salon work, the studio offers production services, providing hair coloring and cutting for television and film. The studio's cutting and color menu is organized into add-ons, color, haircuts and production work, and most services are priced by the time they take.

Pricing is an all-inclusive hourly rate of $140, the same for every client regardless of gender, prorated to the closest quarter hour. Services are timed rather than sold a la carte, so booking two or more services means paying for the time in the chair after the consultation. The studio says this structure is meant to be simple and transparent.

Each visit begins with a consultation about lifestyle, how much time the client wants to spend styling, and their goals. The opening 15-minute consultation is not currently charged and is not included in the final payment. New clients pay a $75 deposit to book the New Client Cut. Booking dates are usually released one month at a time and announced on social media, and when the schedule is full, clients are placed on a waitlist and contacted to schedule. Metered parking is available on Ventura, and free parking is available behind the salon.
