Founded in 2013, Gresham Giles Salon is a boutique salon in West Midtown Atlanta. The salon describes itself as a hidden find in the city where looking after your hair also counts as self care. In 2019 the salon partnered with Studio 6 Barbershop, which broadened its services to include both women and men. The men's cuts and barbering sit alongside color, treatments, relaxer services, shampoo services, haircuts, loc styling and children's cuts.
Visits are booked in advance. Clients who arrive more than 10 minutes late may have their appointment reduced to a shape-up only. Clients who are unsure which products suit them can book a 30-minute virtual consultation online for $60. The salon also sells its own hair products online, priced from $22 to $36.
Community work is part of the salon's identity. It hosts the Gresham Giles Brunch Club, a monthly group for women in business, and promotes Straight From the Chair, a YouTube show on hair trends, techniques and tips. It provides makeover services to women affected by domestic violence in metro Atlanta, has collaborated with the SCLC and has taken part in the Pampered for Peace Program. The salon says it supports community growth through economic development and empowerment, and it also offers coaching to stylists on scheduling, operations, social media and marketing.
