A visit starts with a personal consultation before the cut, and clients can browse the online haircut lookbook and bring a look with them. Walk-ins are welcome: check in at the front desk and you will be seen in turn. Online Check-In lets you join the waitlist and see estimated wait times; it is not an appointment, it opens five minutes after the salon opens, closes as the wait nears closing, and is not available for perms or formal updos. Stylist schedules are not published, and requests for a particular stylist are made at the salon.

Technical notes on past haircuts, called Clip Notes, are kept so that any stylist can repeat a previous cut. The salon states that satisfaction with all services and products is guaranteed, and concerns go to the staff on site. Coupons are accepted at the franchisee's discretion, so it is worth calling ahead to confirm one is valid. Senior and student discounts are offered at many Great Clips locations, and this salon's availability must be confirmed directly. The salon does not offer hair coloring.

The salon takes part in several community programs. Clips of Kindness provides free clipper cuts for people undergoing cancer treatment. Clients can donate hair to Wigs for Kids, and at participating salons the haircut is free, though participation should be confirmed with the salon. Every Great Clips location offers free haircuts or haircut cards to service members and veterans on Veterans Day, November 11. Haircuts are also offered to clients with sensory or special needs, with reasonable accommodations.

The salon says its stylists keep learning through regular training in newer cutting methods, trending looks and client care. Stylists are hired by the local franchisee, who can be applied to online at jobs.greatclips.com or in person at the salon. The local owner sets haircut prices, which can differ by location and shift over time; extra taxes and fees may also apply, so calling or visiting for current pricing is the best way to get exact figures.
