Golden Hour Esthetics is run by co-owners McKenzie Royse and Jennifer Hallberg. The two studied esthetics together at Northwest College School of Beauty, graduated in 2021, and wanted to open a business together.
The studio is on the upper floor of a building on Proctor Blvd in Sandy. Clients enter from the parking lot, climb the stairs, and find the studio at the second door on the left. The suite is set up as a relaxing place to unwind and recharge. Hours are Monday through Thursday 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM, Friday 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and Saturday 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Facials make up much of the menu, from a 30-minute Express Facial at $40 to a Firming peptide Facial at $125 that runs an hour and a half. Several signature facials are $80 for an hour, and a customized facial comes in 60- or 90-minute versions, with the shorter one starting with a consultation. Facials can be paired with add-ons such as gua sha, LED therapy, high frequency, dermaplaning, and a gel-based chemical peel.
Microneedling is performed with the Exceed Candela device, which the facts describe as FDA-cleared for facial wrinkles and acne scar reduction. A single session is $200, and four sessions spaced four to six weeks apart are recommended. Neck and decollete microneedling can be booked as add-ons or in packages. Clients receive a consent form and pre- and post-care instructions by email after booking.
Some products contain shellfish, so clients are asked to disclose any allergies before booking, including nut oil sensitivities. The studio says it commits to using only the best products and techniques. For waxing, clients are advised to let hair grow at least 1/4 inch and to stop shaving at least five days before the appointment.
The studio treats each client as an individual with their own needs and concerns, and builds services around that.
The suite is designed as a relaxing space for unwinding and recharging.
