Visits usually start with a plan. A color consultation takes 10 minutes and costs $10, and extensions require a consultation to set color, length and purpose. Clients unsure what to book can text two to three photos of their hair and current look to the salon for guidance. Clients can choose a stylist by viewing their work on social media and booking a consultation, or ask the front desk for a recommendation. If no suitable time is open, clients can join the waitlist with preferred dates and times. Elmwood Avenue has paid street parking Monday through Friday until 5 pm and is free on weekends. Lancaster Street, directly across from the salon, has free residential parking when a spot is open, and Lafayette Avenue is less than a block away and usually has room.

Color is the core of the menu. The GH Signature Color is for new clients and includes foils, a K18 treatment, root shadow, gloss and a blow dry. The salon says its long-lasting blonde and dimensional brunette services last three to six months. Color correction for removing permanent color or box dye starts at $175 per hour and usually takes about five hours, and a consultation is recommended. Gray transitions are done in one eight-hour appointment that includes removing the old color. Bleach root retouches are for four to six weeks of regrowth, and more regrowth is treated as color correction at extra cost. Haircuts start at $85 and include washing, styling, detailing, weight removal, shaping and length change, and a dusting can be added. Wash and blowouts are offered on Thursdays only for $25.

Bridal work is a major part of the salon. Bridal trials cost $100 or more and take at least 45 minutes. To prepare, clients arrive makeup-free with clean, fully dry hair and bring three to five inspiration photos and their accessories. A wash and blowout is included in the bridal package. Bridal inquiries are handled through the online form on the bridal page.

Policies are firm. Cancellations or changes need at least four hours notice, or the stylist invoices a 50% service fee. Clients who arrive 15 or more minutes late may have their appointment forfeited, with the same fee applied. Services are not refundable. Technical errors such as bleed marks, toner spots or uneven cuts can be adjusted if reported within 72 hours of the appointment, and the adjustment must be scheduled within seven days with the original stylist.

The salon says its stylists are all focused on education, and planning starts with a consultation for color, extensions and color correction.
