Gloss Studio

Gloss Studio is a boutique hair salon at 520 Montgomery Street, Suite 208, in San Francisco. The studio is on the top floor, and visitors use the building call box to be buzzed in. Its approach is to adapt current hair design trends to each client's image rather than offer one standard look.

Services are split between two specialists. Oscar Agredano handles cutting, and Emma James handles color. A haircut runs about 1.5 hours and includes a customized shampoo and conditioning treatment, a consultation, and a blow-dry and style, priced at $165. Keratin treatments take 1.5 to 3 hours and are priced from $175 to $350, customized to the result the client wants. The studio states that results last 8 to 12 weeks.

Color appointments are booked by time rather than by service name, at $180 per hour, all-inclusive. Examples include a gloss or tone refresh with styling for 1 hour at $180, a single process or gray coverage with rapid dry and no styling for 1.5 hours at $270, and highlights or balayage maintenance with gloss and styling for 2.5 to 3.5 hours depending on hair density, at $450 to $630. New color clients are booked for a color consultation first. The stylist does not double book, and gratuity is never expected.

Cancellations made with 48 hours notice are free. Cancellations with less notice are charged 50% of the service fee, and missed appointments are charged the full amount. Clients can book online through the Book Now button on the website or reach the studio at glossstudiosf@gmail.com.
