Glass House

Glass House was co-opened in 2018 by Meg Tompkins and a close friend, and Alyssa Riley is also listed as a founder. The salon describes its aim as a comfortable, lower-pressure alternative to intimidating traditional salons, with a sustainable style for each client. Its view is that a client's hair can change as their style changes over time.

Cuts are booked in 30, 45, 60, 90 or 120 minute appointments. The 30 minute cut suits dry cuts on short, long, curly or thick hair and quick shape changes, while longer cuts cover layering, major changes and detailed styling. Coloring includes color melt, which blends dark roots into lighter lengths, color retouch for clients who already color their hair, all over color, gloss, and a $50 color consultation that is credited toward the booked service. Lightening covers partial and full highlights, an extra full highlight for a first highlight or bigger change, bleach and tone for an even light shade, and color block for one or two bold pieces. A vivid add-on is available. Color correction and transformational color are priced after a consultation.

Additional services include lip and eyebrow waxing, perms, Malibu treatments and blowouts. The Malibu plus blowout removes buildup such as hard water or product before a smooth blow-dry. Loc services and dematting are offered after a consultation. For weddings, the salon offers bridal blowouts, upstyles, a bridal trial and on-site styling, with on-site pricing set by consultation.
