GlamBrows Beauty Studio & Academy

The studio works in permanent makeup and micropigmentation from a second-floor suite on South Avenue West in Westfield. It is run by founder Patricia Reed, a licensed artist and trainer, and pairs client appointments with training for people who want to work in micropigmentation.

Visits are by appointment only, Monday to Friday mornings through late afternoon and Saturday mornings, and bookings can be made online. New clients can start with a free online consultation, where they send questions and photos for review, or book an in-person consultation for $75, which is credited toward a permanent makeup service booked afterward. A non-refundable $250 booking fee secures the appointment and is applied to the procedure balance, which is due on the day of the visit. Checks are not accepted, and cancellations need at least 72 hours' notice, with a $250 fee charged when the studio is not told in time.

Microblading places pigment in strokes that resemble hair and is done by hand. Powder brows use a micropigmentation machine for a softer or darker makeup look, and the studio also offers them for clients who are not good candidates for microblading because of previous permanent makeup, large pores or oily skin. LatinBrows combines the two methods for a natural look with a touch of makeup, suited to clients with little or no brow hair or who want more definition. Microblading is done over two sessions, the first lasting about three hours, with a touch-up included to adjust color and thickness after healing. The studio notes that results typically last six to eighteen months, depending on skin type, age and aftercare.

Other offerings include lip blush, which gives a soft lipstick effect with the final shade depending on natural lip pigment, and baby eyeliner, a permanent liner meant to make eyes look bigger and brighter. Scalp micropigmentation is a non-surgical procedure that simulates hair follicles to create the look of a shaved head or added density in thinning hair. Students can also train with the studio's academy for a career in micropigmentation.
