Starter locs begin with a comb coil after shampoo and conditioning. The service works only with 100% natural hair that has not been heat or chemically treated, so permed or relaxed ends are not accepted for starting locs. A professional trim is required beforehand, and hair should arrive free of styling product and detangled, or additional charges apply.
Loc maintenance, or retwisting, includes a shampoo, deep conditioning and palm roll retightening at the root. Clients can add a basic style, two-strand twist ropes, ropes with a style, individual plaits, or an updo once the locs are dry, which can include barrels, petals or pin curls. Styled options take longer, from about an hour and forty-five minutes to three hours depending on the service.
First-time clients are encouraged to book a 15-minute general consultation for $25. Every service requires a $25 deposit that is taken off the total. Deposits and payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. Appointments run on approximate times because service length depends on the hair, with a 15-minute grace period before a booking is cancelled. Last-minute Squeeze Me In appointments are offered Wednesday through Saturday, 8am to 4pm, for an extra $75 paid in full at booking, and clients need to call to be confirmed.
A loc-only practice that works with natural, untreated hair and keeps its menu to loc starts, maintenance, styling and shampoo visits.
