Hair is usually cut before it is cleansed or styled. Afterward, each client receives a personal maintenance routine covering at-home care, sleep, and a schedule for haircuts and treatments. The studio also teaches wash-and-go styles and simplified curl care routines for all hair types.

The studio notes that coily hair is often fine, fragile and prone to dryness, so it generally needs a gentler routine to support healthy growth and moisture. Booking is by appointment only and walk-ins are not accepted. Haircutting and styling can be booked online up to 45 days ahead, and a deposit is required to book. New clients must complete an intake form to secure a spot, and hair color clients must first book a haircut. Hours are 10am to 6pm Monday through Friday, with Saturday by appointment only. Clients should arrive with dry, detangled hair in its natural unstretched curl pattern, free of braid-outs, twist-outs, ponytails and buns. Wash-and-go hair one to three days old is usually workable, while hair four or more days old is often too tangled to style. A detangling fee of $125 per hour applies when hair is not prepared as instructed or arrives in twists, braids or locs. Cancellations should be made at least 48 hours ahead, and no-shows or same-day cancellations forfeit the deposit and owe the remaining balance. Arrivals more than 15 minutes late may need to reschedule. Service concerns should be raised within three days, and there are no refunds on services or exchanges on products and tools.

Payment is cashless. Major credit cards, including Amex and Apple Pay, are accepted, checks are not, and cash tips are welcome.
