Foster Goodness is a holistic esthetics studio in Midtown Sacramento. It began in 2017 as a line of handmade, plant-derived skincare and operated only as a product line for its first six years before adding esthetic services. The studio describes itself as a one-woman shop run by its founder, Cassie Worland.
Each visit starts with a consultation about the skin and daily life. Facials then follow a double cleanse, an exfoliation mask and specialty modalities, with optional massage added if wanted. Treatments are adjusted to each client's needs, capacity and consent, and sessions are not meant to stand in for medical or mental health care.
Facial menu options run from a 35-minute customizable facial and a 35-minute TMJ-focused mini to 50-minute custom facials, including one with hydrodermabrasion for part of the session. Longer options add extended light therapy, sound therapy or fascia work. The Reset Ritual is a 90-minute extended treatment combining a custom facial, extended light therapy, fascia massage and sound therapy. A Pay What You Can facial is listed at $5. Light therapy and sound-based wellness sessions are also offered on their own.
The shop sells handmade, plant-derived skincare and soul care products online and wholesale to shops across the United States. Foster Goodness products are also resold at Beehive Waxing in Sacramento and at Typewriter and Moss in Auburn. Online orders typically ship within 10 business days, while customized goods can take up to 4 weeks of production. Damaged products may be returned if reported within 72 hours of receipt, and unused, saleable items may be returned in original packaging within 30 days. Customized goods are not returnable. Orders can be picked up at the studio by arranging a contactless time. Venmo is accepted at appointments, and online payments are handled through Squarespace using Stripe.
Foster Goodness takes a trauma-informed approach, with personalized sessions shaped around each client's needs, capacity and consent.
