Flor de Lis Thornton

Flor de Lis began as a family business in Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua, Mexico, about 27 years ago, started by the owner's parents. The name honors the owner's two sisters, Flor and Lis. The children in the family learned hair and beauty work by helping run the business, and the owner later moved to Colorado to open a salon of their own.

The salon has two locations: 9191 Washington St. Unit E in Thornton, and 45 N. Main St. Unit 4 in Brighton, inside La Estrellita Restaurant. Clients book by phone, calling the Thornton line at 303-254-7927 or the Brighton line at 720-685-0555. The salon says it has five hairdressers and has served 2,000 clients.

The salon also offers CO2 fractional skin rejuvenation for the face or any other area of the body, and an estrias (stretch mark) treatment listed at $200. For laser and CO2 treatments, the salon provides client information and medical history forms, informed consent forms and aftercare sheets.
