Filhas da Promessa

Filhas da Promessa was founded by co-owners Leila and Adriana, who describe its start as a promise they made to each other to build something special. The salon sits on Central Street in Lowell and says its services are offered entirely in Portuguese, using Brazilian techniques and products.

Hair services cover haircuts, color, highlights and balayage, hydration treatments, progressive brushing, cauterization and blowouts. The salon calls progressive brushing its most requested service. Prices depend on the service and hair length, so clients ask for a quote through WhatsApp.

Skin services include a mini facial of 45 to 60 minutes, a full facial of 75 to 90 minutes, dermaplaning, skin cleansing and facial hydration. The full facial includes deep cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, a therapeutic mask and facial massage. The salon suggests skin cleansing every 30 to 45 days.

Nail services include manicure, pedicure, gel that lasts two to four weeks, nail art and French manicure. The pedicure spa runs about 60 to 75 minutes and includes an aromatic soak, exfoliation, deep hydration and a foot massage. Makeup covers social, bridal, party, graduation, artistic and natural looks, and the salon recommends booking wedding and graduation makeup two to four weeks ahead. Brow lamination and brow design round out the menu.

The salon is open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. It arranges group bookings for events such as baby showers and bachelorette parties in advance through WhatsApp. The salon says its clients come from Lowell neighborhoods including Centralville, Acre, Highlands, Belvidere and Pawtucketville, as well as Chelmsford, Dracut, Tewksbury and Nashua, New Hampshire.
