Facial Aura

Facial Aura is a holistic facial and massage studio in Scottsdale. Its treatments are built on the idea that skin health is connected to the fascia, the lymphatic system and the nervous system, so the work looks at the whole body rather than the face alone. The salon says its approach addresses the mind, body and spirit together.

Founder Rochelle Mulvihill trained as an apprentice under holistic esthetician Hayley Wood at Therapeutic Skin Coach in Los Angeles, and has since worked across medical spas and luxury wellness resorts. Elizabeth Geenen, an esthetician on the team, combines lymphatic movement with massage in personalized sessions.

Every visit starts with an assessment of the client's skin, lifestyle and overall well-being. The practitioner then adjusts the session during treatment to match the skin's needs at that moment, drawing on a range of techniques. Facials pair non-toxic, holistic skincare with facial massage, and clients leave with a personalized skincare and wellness routine to continue at home.

The menu covers facials and several massage-based treatments. A new client begins with the 75-minute New Client Facial + Consultation, which is required for all first-time clients. Other options include Dry Brush Gua Sha, Facial Cupping, Micro Needling, a Thai Poultice warm herbal compress and a 90-minute Buccal Massage, an intraoral deep tissue massage. The Mr. Lulu Chemical Peel is a 60-minute light depth peel for hyperpigmentation, and LED or microneedling can be added depending on skin concerns. It includes an aftercare kit.

Memberships are offered as a monthly option. Aura Glow includes 60 minutes of self-care time for $109 per month, and Aura Bliss includes 90 minutes for $149 per month. Members receive one facial each month at 20% off, 10% off additional services and facial enhancements, and 10% off retail products. Memberships require a six-month commitment, and the monthly charge is made on the 5th. Facials must be used within the calendar month and do not roll over, though an unused facial can be gifted to someone else. Policies to know: appointments are by appointment only, and the studio lists Wednesday to Friday 11am to 6pm, Saturday 9am to 4pm and Sunday 9am to 2pm. Parking is available. Facials can be rescheduled through the link in the confirmation email. A cancellation or no-show within 48 hours results in a charge of 50% of the appointment. Facials are not refundable. Clients are asked to stop retinol or retinoid products at least five days beforehand, avoid facial waxing or depilatory creams for 48 hours before, and skip intense exercise, saunas and hot tubs for the rest of the day afterward.

Treatments begin with an assessment of skin, lifestyle and well-being, and are adjusted during the session to what the skin needs at that time. The studio uses non-toxic, plant-based skincare alongside facial massage as a natural alternative to injections.
