Eycing Wax Studio

Eycing Wax Studio is a boho-themed waxing studio in Unit 4 of a building on Hooff's Run Drive in Alexandria. It is closed on Mondays. Tuesday through Friday it keeps 10am to 7pm hours, Saturday runs 10am to 5pm, and Sunday runs noon to 5pm. Contact is by text only at 866-972-5525.

Hair removal is done with hard wax in two formulas. The orange wax is infused with coral powder and is listed as suited to sensitive skin, while the pink wax is infused with rose petal extract and listed for normal to combination skin. The studio says Brazilian waxes can be finished in 15 minutes or less, and intimate waxing is open to all clients regardless of gender identity.

Brow services include a semi-permanent tint for a darker, fuller look, which the studio suggests refreshing every three to four weeks. Brow lamination can smooth curly brow hairs, lift strands that grow downward and fill sparse areas, and it can be combined with the tint.

The vajacial is an intimate skincare session that covers a deep cleanse, exfoliation, steam, hot towels, extractions, a brightening serum, a jelly mask, moisturizer and high-frequency therapy. The studio recommends one every four to eight weeks.

New clients complete an intake form before their first service. Waxing works best when hair is about a quarter inch long, and the studio recommends returning every four to six weeks. Clients may be waxed during their period but must wear a tampon. Clients taking Accutane should not book a wax, and those using retinol or Retin-A are asked to wait at least four weeks. Aftercare includes an exfoliant. The studio says clients should leave feeling smooth and confident.

The loyalty program is free to join, and members earn one star for every three dollars spent. Stars are valid for 12 months and can be redeemed for dollar discounts, a free jelly mask, or a $20 credit at 300 stars. Rising Star status starts at 100 stars and doubles stars earned, Shooting Star starts at 350 stars for 2.5 times, and Golden Star starts at 600 stars for 3 times, with 100 stars per referral at the higher tiers. Scheduling a first appointment can add 100 bonus points.

The studio also sells Raw Blossom skincare, a locally made line produced in small batches, which the studio says uses 100% natural ingredients and is chemical-free. Listed items include turmeric and tea tree with charcoal artisan soaps, a whipped sugar scrub, a honey balm and a whipped body butter.
