EXTENDED was founded in 2020 by Luz Swan and Jess Kern in Milton, Georgia. The salon describes its experience as a luxury one and its artists as expert, and it says every woman deserves to feel confident and beautiful.

Hand-tied extensions are the salon's preferred method. The hair is 100% human, arranged in lightweight wefts that can be customized in color and placement. Placement uses minimal points of contact with no glue, tape, or fusion, and the extensions can be removed in about five minutes. Weft extensions are also offered.

Appointments are by appointment only, Monday through Saturday, and the salon is closed on Sundays. New clients complete a consultation request form before booking a consultation. Pricing depends on the extension type, how much hair is needed, and how complex the installation is, and detailed quotes are given at consultation.

After the appointment, clients receive personalized care instructions and products. Guidance covers shampooing and conditioning as usual with extra care around the join, keeping sunblock and suntan oil away from the extensions, and swimming or exercising with a swim cap recommended in chlorinated water. Extensions need to be moved up and re-colored every six to eight weeks as natural hair grows. The salon states that properly applied and maintained extensions should not damage natural hair.

The salon uses Natural Beaded Rows, in which a track of beads and thread is placed on small sections of natural hair and extension hair is hand-sewn onto the thread. Before placement, the artists evaluate the natural hair and the desired look, then recommend a placement.
