Exfolē8 is a specialty skincare studio at 1308 West Madison Street in Chicago's West Loop / Fulton Market area, and waxing is a large part of the menu. Services are grouped under Skincare, Microcurrent, Waxing and Beauty Enhancements, Skin Revision, and PRX-DERM PERFEXION. The studio calls itself the first DMK paramedical clinic in Illinois.

About

Skincare visits start with a written and hands-on consultation and skin analysis, and treatments are adjusted from that analysis. Options range from a 30-minute Pick Me Up mini facial and a 45-minute LED Facial to the two-hour Signature Facial, which combines an enhanced cocktail facial with an infusion treatment, RevitaPen microchanneling, LED light and microcurrent. Enzyme therapy and an Alkaline Wash pH treatment, which is performed only with approval, sit under Skin Revision alongside longer programs for acne and congestion, brightening and skin fitness. Microcurrent uses TAMA equipment with four MetaWave modalities, and LED treatments use LightStim panels.

Waxing covers face, body, men's and intimate areas. The studio uses soft wax and a hard wax made from rosin, which is a natural neutral color and contains no dyes, fragrance or plastic. Lash and brow tints use vegetable dye. Products are carried to help with ingrown hairs, and consecutive monthly series for bikini, enhanced bikini and Brazilian waxing are offered at a saving.

Visits are by appointment only and can be booked online, by phone, in person or through an online booking agent. Same-day appointments and walk-ins are accepted when possible, and clients can join a wait list. Hours are Tuesday and Thursday 12 to 8 PM, Friday 11 AM to 3 PM, Saturday 8 AM to 4 PM and Sunday 9 AM to 2 PM, and the studio is closed Monday and Wednesday. Skincare clients complete an online consultation form before a first visit, and the $40 consultation fee is prepaid, non-refundable and deducted from the first service. Changes need at least 48 hours notice, late cancellations carry a fee of $25 to $50, and no-shows are charged in full. Virtual consultations are available on Zoom.

Home care products can be picked up by reservation, shipped or dropped off, and unopened items may be returned within seven days for store credit. Gift certificates for any service or product are valid for five years and are non-refundable. Metered street parking is available Monday through Saturday, and an indoor parking structure is across the street at Ada and Madison. CTA buses 8, 9 and 20 and nearby Green, Pink and Blue Line stations serve the area.

The studio favors science and consistency over trends, and takes a holistic view when customizing each skin treatment plan.
