The practice focuses on the face, nose, eyelids, ears and neck and does not perform body procedures.

Nose surgery is available, including rhinoplasty, septoplasty and revision work. Other procedures cover the eyelids, brows and forehead, ear pinning, and earlobe repair or reduction. Facelifts, neck lifts and midface lifts are offered, along with lip procedures and facial implants for the cheeks and chin. Revision and reconstructive operations, including cleft lip and palate repair, are also performed. Operations take place at a number of hospitals and outpatient specialty surgery centers across San Francisco and Marin County.

Non-surgical care includes neurotoxin treatments such as Botox, Dysport and Xeomin, a range of hyaluronic acid and other dermal fillers, and non-surgical cheek and chin augmentation. Laser options include IPL photofacial treatment with MaxG, laser hair removal, laser resurfacing and non-ablative laser rejuvenation, and skin tightening includes face and neck tightening and RF microneedling. Injectables can be used on their own or alongside surgery, such as before a rhinoplasty or after a facelift, neck lift or blepharoplasty. The practice also sells its own RansomMD line of medical-grade skin care.

To book, people call the San Francisco office or use the online request form, and virtual consultations are available. A $200 consultation fee is collected at booking and is non-refundable, but it can be applied toward any later procedure or product at the practice whatever the patient decides. The practice does not accept insurance and is not in network with any carriers, though financing options are listed on its website. Medical history is collected by phone or at the appointment rather than through the online form. Office hours are Monday to Wednesday and Friday from 8am to 4pm, and Thursday from 9am to 6pm. The San Francisco office has nearby parking garages and a valet entrance, and it is about a three-block walk from the Powell and Montgomery BART stations.

The practice supports charity work. Dr. Ransom carries out cleft lip and palate operations with Healing the Children, a nonprofit with an international health focus, and has taken part in humanitarian trips to Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico and Thailand. Free specialty care is also provided to survivors of domestic violence and to wounded soldiers through the Face to Face and Faces of Honor programs of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

The practice aims to keep each patient's own features while helping them look and feel better. Dr. Ransom reviews each patient's concerns at consultation and builds a treatment plan for that person.
