ER Wax Bar opened in June 2020, when Elizabeth began offering waxing from one room with one fixed bed at Salon Lofts on Falls of Neuse Road. A second location followed at Peddlers Village in October 2020. The lease for the Garner storefront was signed in November 2020, and after it opened, the Salon Lofts and Peddlers Village locations closed so that everything could run from Garner.

The business is privately owned and works from its own storefront rather than inside another salon. Clients can book online through the website or the Square booking page, choose a specific esthetician, or reach the front desk by phone, text or email. Every service uses a specialty stripless hard wax. The business says repeated sessions make waxing less painful as the hair follicles soften over time. Clients are advised to gently exfoliate the night before and to let hair grow to about a quarter inch, which for most people means waiting two weeks after shaving.
