Empowered Beauty is a lash and brow studio in Houston, founded by Queenie, who also works there as lash artist and brow master. The studio describes itself as a place where self-care and artistry meet.

Lash extensions come in three styles. Classic sets add length and subtle definition to natural lashes, hybrid sets blend classic and volume lashes for a textured, dimensional look, and volume sets add full density with a fluffy finish. Fills are recommended every two to three weeks to keep the set looking full. The lashes are made from Korean silk and faux mink materials imported from Asia, which the studio describes as premium, lightweight, soft and gentle on skin.

Permanent makeup brows include ombre brows, which use a small machine to add pigment for a soft, powdered gradient that is lighter at the front and deeper toward the tail, and combo brows, which pair hair-like strokes at the front with shading through the rest of the brow. A numbing cream is applied before and during brow procedures. Healing usually takes seven to 10 days, during which brows may look darker and scab slightly. Results typically last one to three years, depending on skin type, lifestyle and aftercare.

Before a visit, clients are asked to arrive with clean lashes free of makeup and to avoid oil-based products and mascara. Brow clients are asked to avoid waxing, tweezing or tinting for at least 48 hours beforehand, and to skip alcohol, caffeine and blood-thinning medication such as aspirin for 24 hours before. Clients with allergies or sensitive eyes can mention it when booking, and the adhesive can be tested first. Cancellations or rescheduling need at least 48 hours' notice, and late changes forfeit the deposit.
