About

The school was founded in 1964 by Norman Langlois, a Navy veteran, and has operated for more than 50 years. It is family owned and operated today by his children, John Langlois and Donna Demers, who have managed several salons and beauty centers in the area. The school says Norman Langlois earned the nickname The King of Beauty during his career.

All hair, barbering and esthetics services are performed by supervised students in training, so visits are part of the learning process. Hair prices can vary with hair length and condition, and chemical service prices do not include haircuts, thermal styling or roller sets. Veteran cuts in the cosmetology and barbering clinics are offered at no charge, and gift certificates are available. The Day of Beauty package must be booked for the first appointment of the day.

The Hooksett campus, about 14,552 square feet, sits between Manchester and Concord and houses the cosmetology, esthetics, esthetics premium and barbering programs, with hands-on work in an on-site salon. The Laconia campus, about 8,750 square feet across two floors, lies between Lake Winnipesaukee and Winnisquam Lake near Lakeport and Weirs Beach; it does not offer barbering but teaches cosmetology, esthetics, esthetics premium, makeup and lash extension courses. Laconia and Somersworth are Pivot Point Legacy schools, and the school says it received the Pivot Point Legacy School honor, its highest from Pivot Point.

Classes are flexible, with full-time and part-time schedules and day and evening options at the campuses. Financial aid, scholarships and veterans assistance are available, and the school states that it is fully accredited, licensed and eligible for financial aid. Programs include preparation for state board examinations and licensing, along with business skills such as marketing, social media, interviewing and client relations.

Training pairs classroom curriculum with hands-on practice, including work on mannequins and real clients, with faculty the school describes as working makeup artists, hair stylists and estheticians. The school presents itself as family owned and operated.
