The salon was built by Gene under the name Gene's Hair Salon. It now operates as Emma's Hair Salon, and Emma Johnson, who owns it and also works as a stylist there, took it over from Gene with a new direction for the space.

Listed prices include $120 for a full highlight, $80 for a partial highlight, $60 for a root retouch, $25 for a haircut and $250 for K-tip or I-tip installation.
