Elle Style Studio Studio 8

Elle Style Studio was established in 2014 by four stylists who were friends. It has grown into a group of makeup artists, aestheticians, bridal experts and hairstylists working side by side in Richmond. The studio has three locations: one on West Huguenot Road (Studio 10) and two on West Cary Street (Studio 8 at 3224 A, and 3317 West Cary Street, which opened in October 2020).

The studio works as a collective rather than a single salon. Each artist brands themselves, owns their own business within Elle, and makes their own appointments. Clients contact the individual artist they want for pricing and booking, so the people you book with are the people who will do your service.

Bridal work is a major part of the studio. Bridal services can be done on location or in the studio, and clients can book hair only, makeup only, or both. Bridal requests also cover bridesmaids, mothers, flower girls, grandmothers and other relatives, grooms and groomsmen. Bridal pricing is provided through a form on the Weddings page, and special event hair and makeup requests go by email to the studio's wedding address.

Hair work across the studio ranges from precision and lived-in cuts to dimensional color, foil and balayage work, grey coverage, and smoothing treatments. Makeup artists in the group have backgrounds in department-store and luxury makeup artistry, including work for celebrity and fashion show clients.

Artists work independently under one roof, so each brings a personal style and sets their own approach to color, cutting and makeup.
