The studio grew out of that training and is built around protective styling and natural hair care.

The business describes its mission as helping women protect, nurture and style natural hair. A visit usually starts with a consultation, which costs $15. Clients are asked to bring pictures of the look they want. Prep instructions for braids and silk presses are given at booking, and clients are asked to arrive with clean, detangled hair unless told otherwise. A deposit is required to hold an appointment and is non-refundable. Cancelling less than 24 hours ahead keeps the deposit and adds a charge of the difference up to 25% of the service price, and a no-show keeps the deposit and adds a charge of the difference up to 50%. Appointments outside regular hours or on days off carry a $50 convenience fee.

Pricing spans the full braid menu, with options for boho curls added through the braids or at the ends, and for small, smedium and medium sizes. Chemical and smoothing services, color, relaxers and a keratin-based smoothing treatment are also offered. The studio sells its own hair care products online for healthy hair, protective styles and extensions.
