Submitting a request does not book a time. Work ranges from subtle dimension and highlights to a complete color change, and clients are advised to wait at least 48 hours before shampooing after a color service when possible.

Perms are a specialty. The men's perm uses a Korean technique with a detached rubber-band rod method and includes a precision haircut; it typically lasts around two months, depending on hair growth and styling. The down perm relaxes hair on the sides and back and is not a full curly perm, and it does not include a haircut. The volume straight perm reduces wave and smooths hair, with the level of smoothing discussed with the stylist, and it includes a haircut.

Clients book through the business's own online scheduler, which supports repeat appointments and sends text reminders to clients who opt in. Card payments, including deposits and prepayments, are handled by Openings, Inc. through Stripe. Parking varies by location, with free structure parking at the Arts District, private lots at several sites, and metered street parking at Pasadena. Edition Studio is a studio-style space where the most experienced team members offer a wider range of services.
