Drench Studios

Drench Studios is a hair salon in Bushwick, Brooklyn, on the fourth floor of 49 Wyckoff Ave, reached by four flights of stairs. The building elevator has been slow to be repaired, so clients who cannot manage the stairs may be offered a house-call appointment or referred to a ground-floor salon nearby.

The studio operates as a booth rental space, so each artist works independently and collects payment directly. Most artists accept card payment, though cash is preferred. Gratuity is not included in service prices, and cash is also preferred for tips.

Haircuts start at $125 and include razor cuts, textured shaggy cuts, and precision cuts, as well as trims of about half an inch or major length changes. Haircolor, highlights and balayage start at $150 and range from natural sun-kissed dimension to bold fantasy shades. Styling and haircare start at $50 and cover blowouts, a detox treatment, and event styling.

Appointments are booked online through Vagaro, and the studio's phone contact is by text only. Hours run Tuesday through Sunday, 11am to 7pm, and may vary by day. There is no parking lot, but street parking is usually available near Wyckoff Ave. Guests are welcome and wait in the waiting area, and dogs are allowed with advance notice, though pets that are stressed or disruptive should stay home.

Clients who arrive more than 15 minutes late may need to reschedule and may be charged a fee. Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice are charged 50%, and those with less than 24 hours' notice are charged the full service total. A no-call, no-show is charged the full service, and any outstanding fees must be paid before a new appointment can be booked.

Stylists work with clients on individual looks, with an emphasis on cuts and color that suit each person and are practical to keep up at home.
