Dream Salon

Dream Salon was founded in 2021 by Meghan Leonard and sits on Beacon Street in Coolidge Corner. The salon describes its goal as a welcoming, one-on-one visit that leaves guests with hair they like, and it keeps its focus on blonding, balayage, dimensional color and hair extensions.

Color is the core of the menu. Dimensional color, which can use highlights, lowlights, balayage, babylights, foilyage or a lived-in finish, comes in Mini, Partial and Full sizes, with heavier options available as upgrades and toner or gloss and a blowout included. Solid blonde is a longer double-process service, offered for virgin hair, while previously colored or lightened hair needs a color consultation first. Solid color covers root color, all-over color, and gloss or toner options, and includes a blowout. Haircuts start at $90 and begin with a full consultation, a wash, a precision cut and a choice of style.

Hair extensions are offered by three methods: tape-ins, K-tips, and beaded wefts, which the salon also calls hand-tied, volume or invisible beaded extensions. Every new extension client books a consultation first, and guests who already wear extensions from another stylist must do the same before maintenance, which can be done by text or FaceTime. Quotes depend on method, length, color, amount of hair and the current condition of the guest's hair, and installation runs from $350 to $2,000. Tape-in and beaded weft maintenance is due every 4 to 8 weeks, while K-tip extensions need a new install every 3 to 4 months. Financing is available for installation, and Buy Now, Pay Later can be used for in-person bookings from $50 to $4,000 with approval before the appointment.

The salon is open Wednesday and Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM and Saturday from 9 AM to 2 PM, and is closed Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Public parking lots and metered street parking are nearby, and the Green C Line stop at Coolidge Corner is the closest public transit. Cancellations or changes need 48 hours' notice, and appointments canceled inside that window are charged a 50% fee of the scheduled service. The salon says it understands that true emergencies happen and tries to be understanding in those cases.
